Two of Bengaluru’s newer vegetarian restaurants have special menus for Diwali: Druma at the Cosmopolitan Club in Jayanagar, and Bountyful in Indiranagar.
Druma, Jayanagar
Druma’s festive menu mixes Indian classics with global favourites. From the Indian side come Dal Makhani, Paneer Butter Masala, Kadhai Paneer, Dahi Bhindi, Alleppey Mango Curry, Paneer Chettinad and Gongura Paneer Koora, along with tandoor and South Indian dishes such as Tandoori Soya Chaap, Bharwan Mushroom, Malai Broccoli, Achari Paneer, Ghee Roast Mushroom and Andhra-style Chilli Paneer.
There are also soups, salads, chaats and small plates, from Manchow Soup and Watermelon Feta Salad to Dhokla Chaat, Samosa Mille-Feuille Chaat and Mushroom Ricotta Croquettes. The chef’s special is Parota Quesadillas. For dessert, try the Rose Milk Tres Leches, Berry Cheesecake or Lotus Biscoff Ice Cream Cake.

Bountyful, Indiranagar
Bountyful, which serves regional vegetarian food from across India, has a one-day Diwali menu built around sweet, sour and spicy flavours. Starters include Lucknowi Dahi Kabab, Tawa Mushroom Galouti and Tandoori Soya Seekh Kebab, followed by Tomato Tulsi Rasa.
For mains, there’s Nawaratan Korma, Awadhi Paneer Kali Mirch, Ma Ke Haath Ka Chole Bhature, and Kala Chana Dum Tehri with imli chilli jam and achari raita. Lal Mirch Laccha Paratha comes with Double Tadka Dal. Dessert is Khoya Jalebi or Kaju Katli Chocolate Barfi, and the drinks are all zero-proof: Pineapple Jaljeera, Paan Sharbat and Kokum Konkan.
