Every week, our Editor-in-Chief, Anju Anna Alex, picks the food, hospitality and cultural experiences in Bengaluru that are worth making time for. This week runs from Friday, 30 October to Sunday, 8 November 2026.
It is one of the busiest weeks of the year in the city. Halloween falls on a Saturday, Karnataka Rajyotsava follows on Sunday, and Diwali is just around the corner, so there is a reason to gather around a table almost every day. Here is where I would go.
1. A Halloween dinner the whole family will enjoy
If you have children, the Halloween Feast at CUR8, Four Seasons Hotel Bengaluru, on Saturday is the one to book: a themed buffet, face painting, a trick-or-treat trail, and children under 12 dine free. For a grown-up evening, Café 77 East at Taj Bangalore does Mummy Pizzas, Ghost Chilli Chicken and a wonderfully over-the-top dessert table. I have gathered all the options in our Halloween in Bengaluru roundup.
2. Celebrate Rajyotsava with the food of Karnataka
On Sunday, 1 November, two hotels are honouring the state on the plate. Feast at Sheraton Grand Bangalore is serving Benne Masala Dosa, Thatte Idli, Maddur Vada and filter kaapi at a Rajyotsava lunch, while The Hebbal Cafe at Courtyard by Marriott takes you from Ragi Mudde and Jolada Rotti to Coorg Pandi Curry and Neer Dosa with Chicken Gassi at its Rajyotsava brunch. Either is a lovely way to taste the range of the state in one sitting.
3. A slower Sunday brunch
If the Halloween crowds are not for you, the Haunted Harvest Sunday Brunch at Four Seasons on 1 November is gentler and brighter, with a bouncy castle and photo booth to keep children busy while the adults linger.
4. See the city lit up for the festive season
Orion Mall at Brigade Gateway has turned its lakeside into a festive walk, with Ramayana-inspired installations, illuminated arches and a stage production on 31 October and 1 November. It is free to wander and makes for a good evening out with family. Read more.
5. Start your Diwali gifting early
Hotel hampers make thoughtful gifts, and this year’s are generous. Courtyard by Marriott Bengaluru Hebbal has boxes of mithai and gourmet treats from INR 1,099 plus taxes, and Hyatt Centric MG Road has festive hampers from INR 799 plus taxes.
6. Book ahead for the Diwali brunch
Looking a little further ahead, 24/7 at The LaLiT Ashok is hosting a Diwali brunch on Sunday, 8 November, with Awadhi biryani, Mandya-style chicken and a dessert table that runs from Gulab Jamun Cheesecake to Parappu Payasam. Festive brunches fill up fast, so this is one to reserve now.
7. A new place to try
For a quieter meal between the celebrations, Bountyful in Indiranagar is a new vegetarian restaurant cooking regional dishes from across India that you rarely see on menus.
And one more thing
The festive season has officially begun at Taj West End, which held its annual cake mixing ceremony this week. In a city that changes so quickly, I love that some traditions stay exactly as they are.
Happy Halloween, happy Rajyotsava, and a very early happy Diwali.
