Enjoy unique experiences with your children in the Main metropolis

26th February 2020: Frankfurt is a great place to spend time with children. A view of the Main metropolis from high above is just one of the many highlights on offer, You may either take the lift to the rooftop observation platform of the Main Tower, climb the stairs to the spire of the Frankfurt Cathedral in the old town, or make your way up to the lookout platform of the wooden Goethe Tower in the city forest. The views from each of these locations are truly breath-taking. If your children are interested in a bit of youth culture, why not attend a children’s theatre performance or visit one of the city’s many child-friendly museums? Yet another option is to visit one of the Frankfurt’s many parks, gardens or forest playgrounds, where your little ones enjoy to their hearts’ content.

Main Tower (incl. Observation Platform)
The Main Tower is one of the tallest and the most distinctive high-rise in the city. It has two observation platforms that can be reached by a lift in a mere 45 seconds. The observation deck offers a stunning panoramic view of the city’s skyline.

The guests and visitors can also enjoy fine art and the best view in of the city at the Main tower which is 200m above street level.

Frankfurt Children’s Museum
The Frankfurt Children’s Museum develops and presents interactive exhibitions such as calculating on an old computer device especially for families with children age 6 and up.
The new location at the Hauptwache attracts not only families, but also school classes and other children’s groups. Beyond the public exhibition children can be active and creative in a variety of specially booked workshops such as paper making or even celebrate their birthday party at the museum. The Frankfurt Children’s Museum also features a variety of guided tours in and around the Historic Museum Frankfurt.

Zoo Frankfurt
One of Europe’s most significant zoological gardens, established in 1858, features two highly interesting exotic and nocturnal animal houses. Frankfurt Zoo, situated in the heart of the city, is home to some 500 animals species from across the globe. Senckenberg Museum of Natural History
The Senckenberg Museum – one of the largest Natural History Museums in Germany – exhibits the evolution of life and its recent biodiversity. Beside the innumerable, unique exhibits of mammals, insects and fishes especially the abandoned dinosaurs inspire young and old visitors. Changing special exhibitions make every visit at the Senckenbeg Museum unique. Immerse yourself into primitive times!

Forest Playground Goethe Tower
The playground is situated beneath the 43-metre-tall Goethe Tower, which in turn is known to be Germany´s tallest wooden observation platform. The tower was erected in 1931 by the forestry office and offers a magnificent view of Frankfurt´s “green belt”. The park´s playground, featuring a variety of apparatuses and an extra-long slide, provides plenty of fun for youngsters of all ages.

Eissporthalle Frankfurt/ Ice Rink
Eissporthalle Frankfurt offers winter fun for the whole family. The multifunctional Eisporthalle, built in 1981, offers ice skaters over 9,000 square metres of ice, featuring two variably sized indoor rinks and an outdoor skating area that also includes a short track for speed-skaters.
