Plans to distribute seeds to customers in association with Detel Foundation
Delhi, 05 June 2019: Barista – a leading coffee chain in India today launches #Gogreen initiative in
association with Detel Foundation. As part of this initiative, Barista will be gifting specially packed seeds
to its patrons and highlight the measures people can adopt to safeguard environment.
World Environment Day being celebrated on 5 th June every year is a prominent UN platform to create
global awareness and action towards environment protection. This year’s theme of Beat Air Pollution
holds quite a significance.
Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Puneet Gulati, CEO, Barista said: “Air pollution in India has touched
catastrophic levels, a large portion of our population being impacted by the same. Since India is home to
13 of top 20 worldwide cities reeling under the impact of air pollution, planting trees is one of the
significant efforts to fight against air pollution. Barista’s initiative of gifting seeds encourages people to
make positive contribution in improving the green cover. Barista’s Pan India presence allows us to reach
across 48 towns and educate our patrons on steps to be taken to develop the green cover. We hope the
#Gogreen initiative will be able to make a significant contribution in this direction.”

The campaign is being rolled out at Barista Cafes pan India coinciding with World Environment Day.
